One of my favorite and easy vittles to whip up? The veggie burger.

Whether you make them from scratch or buy the patty and dress it up, it’s a meal that makes you feel good in your mouth and your mind.

Lately, one of my to-go picks has been the Trader Joe’s Vegetable Masala Burger with authentic Indian spices. You just take out the patty, fry it in the pan for a few minutes, I typically saute some jalapenos with it as well, and voila!

Toast yourself a brioche bum, add lettuce, red onion, tomato, sauteed jalapenos, topped with sprouts! There you have it.

Veggie burgers have been treading for the last two years and have only been growing in popularity. We’ve seen several fast foods add veggie burgers to their menus, something that would have been unheard of five years ago.

Today, there are various veggie burger options, which are also good for the planet. Hamburgers and meat in general have a higher climate, land, and water footprint than the same quantity of plant-based foods.

According to the BBC, “In the worst case, this can be 10–100 times greater than plant-based foods. The best foods by far, from an environmental perspective, are plant-based.”

A veggie burger is just as delicious and filling, so why not save a few climate footprints and make yourself a veggie delight.
