I began the year a little broken. 2021 wasn’t kind to me. I was laid off, lost one of the loves of my life, (my dog, Joey), and went through a breakup with someone I thought would be in my life forever.

But I would go through an unexpected transformation in unfamiliar territory that would change my trajectory.

There were a few positive things though, I made some new friends that have become an integral part of my life. And I had a couple of interviews at this crypto company I applied to in December 2021.

In mid-January 2022, I was offered a position as a Content Marketing Associate at TRON DAO, a blockchain company and I took it! Practically my entire year consisted of learning crypto.

Then we moved from Monterey to San Francisco in April to our cute apartment near Ocean Beach and the historic Sutro Baths area.

2022 was about throwing myself into my new world of blockchain technology, writing, editing, and localizing press releases and articles. I felt like I was drowning at times in a sea of tech talk and the fast unforgiving pace of crypto, but my new coworkers kept my head above water and brought a sense of support and calm.

In 2022, I attended two friends’ weddings, one whom I’ve known for a lifetime and the other whom I feel like I’ve known for a lifetime. The first one was in the climax of spring. A majestic cascade mountain range wedding in northwest Washington State called Sedro-Woolley. I’ve known the groom since we were 11 and 12 years old. I felt honored to be there to watch them form their union together. The beginning of their forever.

The next one was a fabulous fall wedding in the Capitol of California. A stunning Sacramento private estate surrounded by beautiful redwoods. I may have only known the bride for a short period, but she has become my voice of reason, someone who grounds me, and makes me feel loved, heard, and supported. I was proud to stand there and watch her say “I do” to her person.

It reminded me how special and unique true love is. True love is not perfect, rather true love is about trying, learning, and growing together through the highs and lows. Love is not a competition or a battle to be won, but a place of compromise, understanding, and kindness.

That is why, after nearly 8 years together, and almost 3 years engaged, Karl and I will begin our wedding journey. 😉

I begin in the year 2023 celebrating my one year at my company and in crypto, as well as picking an official wedding date, and moving to a new location. There’s a lot in store for this year.

I hope there are thrilling wonders brewing under the surface for you too. May 2023 be the year when a new hobby or passion ignites something in you.
